PHGG is a prebiotic fibre derived from the guar bean (Cyamopsis tetregonolobus). Prebiotics are non-digestible fibres which are fermented by gut microorganisms (the gut flora or microbiome) and selectively encourage the growth of intestinal bacteria associated with health and wellbeing.

PHGG is tasteless, odorless and dissolves as a clear solution into any beverage. PHGG helps to appropriately acidify the colon (large intestine) by acting as a fuel source for the beneficial bacteria to ferment and produce short chain fatty acids (SCFA’s). These SCFA’s change the colonic environment so it no longer favours the growth of pathogenic organisms to flourish and cause havoc.

PHGG has proven to be a very valuable prebiotic supplement for IBS sufferers, alleviating a number of gastrointestinal symptoms. IBS sufferers have experienced an improvement in quality of life, increased stool frequency, softer stools, reduced flatulence, cramping and abdominal bloating, and normalized bowel motions (ideal for both constipation and diarrhea).

SUGGESTED USE:

FODMAP Friendly certified at a 5 g serve size. As with other food products that contain fibre, this product may cause abdominal discomfort in susceptible individuals. We suggest commencing with a 5 g serve (3 teaspoons) daily, and gradually increase to an optimum intake of 6 g (31⁄2 teaspoons) daily. Consume with water or add to smoothies, cereal or yoghurt.

Important: Drinking an additional glass of water afterwards is advised to stay well hydrated.
