The main ingredient in Dieter’s Skim Tea is Senna. As a herbal medication, Senna treats constipation and empties the large intestine before surgery. When taken by mouth, it is effective within twelve hours. Senna contains glycosides, which are a group of organic compounds that are commonly found in plants. These compounds work as a laxative by smoothing the muscles as digested food moves through the intestines. This helps to enhance the stool volume and move it out of the colon. The process is caused by chains of fatty acids that promote digestion, fermentation and successfully convert the glycosides into a purgative agent.

Directions for Use (adults only):

Prepare tea with porcelain or glass utensils only. Bring water to a boil. Use one tea bag per cup, pour boiling water over the tea bag, cover the cup and allow to steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
